FotoDC announces new leadership and new plans to continue and expand its

support of the local and global photographic arts community

Washington DC - Now in its 11th year, FotoDC is taking big steps into the future, refocusing on its core mission to provide an innovative, evocative and engaging experience for photographers and photo enthusiasts, through exhibitions and dynamic programming.

Created in 2008, FotoDC has hosted ten editions of FotoWeekDC, a citywide festival attended by tens of thousands of photographers and photography fans annually. The organization has worked with partners big and small, local, national and international, and looks back on its first decade with a sense of pride, knowing it provided Washington DC with a world-class photography festival.

Willem Griffioen, joins the FotoDC team as Board Member and President, along with Executive Director Geoffrey Fenner, and Director of Programming Kevin Sage.  “We are at a pivotal time in history where I truly believe the art form of photography can be used to make a positive difference, in addition to showcasing incredible talent,” remarks Sage.

Theo Adamstein, FotoWeekDC Founder, will continue as an active advisor of FotoDC.  “There are many innovative programs coming with the rebirth of FotoDC – the organization has a promising future.” Svetlana Legetic also continues in an advisory and curatorial capacity.
