ARTISPHERE Photo/Video 2013 call for entries has extended their deadline to February 11th. This exhibition is open to all amateur and professional photographers/video artists (18 years and older) who live, work, study or have a studio in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. 

GOETHE INSTITUT Facing Democracy is an exhibition of work by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lucian Perkins 
documenting the Occupy Movement and the civil unrest that exists in the United States. The exhibition runs through February 24th.

WORN MAGAZINE is holding a call for portfolio entries by independent photographers for their upcoming 5th edition - the "Dream Issue." Their deadline has been extended to February 11th.

AMNON GUTMAN has documented the community based program Save Our Streets (S.O.S.) of the Crown Heights neighborhood in the central New York City borough of Brooklyn.  The S.O.S. program aims to end the gun violence among the Afro American population of Crown Heights.

MAX MACKENZIE's Helter - Shelter exhibition at the American Institute of Architects has been extended through February 28th.  The project is an exploration into the organization of temporary communities.

FotoDC Intern Spotlight

FotoDC has been fortunate to have a creative, energetic, and talented group of interns over the past few years and we are very grateful for their participation. Here's a few highlights of their recent projects and accomplishments: 


DEVIN JOYCE, our fantastic intern from 2012, is incorporating research and interviews to supplement a documentary photography project examining her own personal experiences. Follow the link below to help Devin and share your stories: 


LIKANDO & ERIN, our Madeira School high school interns, are going to college (officially)! Erin will be studying Mathematics at Duke University, and Likando will be studying Photography at Parsons in New York. We're so proud of this HUGE accomplishment, and wish them lots of success in the future!
