Welcome to The Embassy of Canada, at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues. Opened in 1989 and situated at the foot of Capitol Hill and just ten blocks from the White House, the Embassy occupies a unique place along “America’s Main Street”. Designed by renown Canadian architect, Arthur Erickson, the building evokes a sense of Canada, from its waterfalls to its wide open spaces. The long horizontal lines suggest the breadth of Canada as does the light and spaciousness of the courtyard.
We invite you to visit our gallery located on the first floor where we are featuring a photography exhibit by Fulbright Canada grantee, Acacia Johnson. “Under the Same Stars (Ulluriat ataanittuinnait)” was photographed during her four month residence on the north shore of Baffin Island, this community-focused perspective provides an intimate glimpse of life in the Canadian Arctic.
