Veteran National Geographic photographer Cory Richards uses his camera to share a fascinating personal journey of struggle and redemption, using stories set against some of the planet’s most tantalizing backdrops: Antarctica, Russia, the Okavango Delta, the jungles of Burma, and Mt. Everest.
The 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, Cory is a passionate mountain climber and visual storyteller. His photography has appeared in National Geographic, Outside, and the New York Times, and he’s won several awards for his films, including the grand prize at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. This year, he became one of the few to have summited Mt. Everest without supplemental oxygen, taking his followers along for the ride by Snapchatting his ascent in the world’s first “snapumentary.”
