Exposed DC launched its first photography contest in 2006 celebrating the Washington, D.C. community with the news site DCist. In the last decade we've become an independent non-profit organization that connects all levels of photographers with mentoring and exhibition opportunities by partnering with local organizations. Our website highlights daily images with photos from our Flickr pool and tagged #exposeddc on Instagram, profiles photographers, and collects photography news from the community and around the world.
We recently kicked-off our 11th annual photography contest for D.C. area photographers to show us the community they live, work, and love in. The Exposed DC Photography Show is held every March featuring an exhibition of the contest winners and craft beer, food, and other entertainment from D.C. businesses for a full-on celebration of the real people who live in the nation's capital.
